
Mark Vander Vennen has been working in Wraparound since 1991, beginning in Northumberland County. From 1990 to 2004, Mark served as the Coordinator of Children’s Case Coordination Services for Northumberland County, where he coordinated services with and on behalf of children, youth and their caregivers. Northumberland County was an early adopter of Wraparound in Ontario. From 2004-2008 Mark was a member of the Inter-Ministerial Advisory Committee of the Office of Child and Family Service Advocacy at Queen’s Park, and from 2004 to 2020 Mark was the Executive Director of the Shalem Mental Health Network. Mark attended the “second Wraparound Family Reunion” in Chicago in 1992 and the “third WrapArounnd Family Reunion” in Vermont in 1994.
He has received Wraparound training from Karl Dennis, Naomi Tannen and John VandenBerg. He was the founding Board Chair of Wrap Canada in 2008 and is Co-Director of its Wraparound Training Institute. Over the years he has been actively involved in Wraparound Northumberland, in the development of faith-based Wraparound and in the Wraparound Association of Ontario, and he currently serves as the trainer and coach of the Shalem Mental Health Network’s Wraparound program. He continues to provide Facilitator training in various places around Canada.
