The Wraparound Model for participants
Do you sometimes feel overwhelmed by so many needs happening all at once? Are you involved in many services at the same time but they’re just not working for you – or you can’t get service? Do you feel like your ideas for your family or yourself are not being taken seriously?
Wraparound is meant for you
With Wraparound, you speak with a trained Wraparound Facilitator about your hopes and dreams for yourself and your family (if applicable). Together you then identity your gifts (your strengths) and your needs, and you pick a group of people who will form your Wraparound team—people who know you, like family and friends, and whose advice you trust. The team can include professionals—that’s up to you. With the help of your team, you then decide on action steps for meeting your goals, based on your and your team’s strengths.

There are many Wraparound initiatives in Manitoba, Ontario, Alberta, Quebec, Saskatchewan, British Columbia and the Northwest Territories. Check out the map here. New programs continue to be developed across Canada.
Testimonials from PARTICIPANTS
“For once, I feel in control of my own care and services. I was brought to tears knowing I am valued and have purpose.”
“Things have come so far and my life is better than I ever thought it could be. I feel hopeful about the future.”
“Wraparound helped me see that I still have strengths, choices, and people who care about what matters to me.”
“Having supports that I was able to build relationships with and learn new things and the fact that I always knew I just had to ask if I needed something and my 3 favourite team members would jump to my rescue.”
“I feel so much more optimistic since joining Wraparound. I have better housing, my son is receiving his childcare benefit, he is starting in daycare in September, and I am starting school in August. I also feel like I have more financial stability.”
“Wraparound has been a wonderful experience for me. I have connected with my volunteers and always know they are there to support me when needed. For once, I have been left feeling like I have control of my own care and the services I have been connected with. My volunteers created a list of all my strengths, and I was brought to tears knowing I am a valued member of my community and I have purpose. I look at this list often when I am feeling low. Without the support & encouragement of my volunteer facilitators, I would feel overwhelmed by the services in the community and would be hesitant to accept help.”
